When i were visiting my friend and relative house during Raya, most common question they ask me is ;Questioner :Ko keja pa sekarang?
Me : Err.. Flight Operation Dispatcher ( hesitatingly.. i know they unfamiliar with this term)
Questioner :Owh.. kerja bawak belon ( aircraft) ka? Pilot?
Me : No lah.. Pilot drive the aircraft, me just working in the office only
Questioner :Owh.. So keja rah Tower la ni..
Me : Aaah.. about like thatlah.. ( want to ending the topic)
Questioner : MAS ka AirAsia
Me : ???? -_-* That why i not really interested to talk about my job. I does attempted to explained clearly , but honestly not really good in it, especially in real life conversation. I may bored people when i tried talked about serious topic.

Brake… let me have a smoke first ( cari ilham) Ok done smoking, roughly Flight Operation Dispatcher a.k.a OPS was a person that responsible to dispatched the aircraft, all aircraft will be arrange by OPS team ( that me) for utilization based on client need. So OPS act as a host ( macam host person at Las Vegas Series) made arrangement for Pilot, preparing Flight Plan ( aircraft routing document for Tower reference), Fuel, POB ( People on Board), assisting pilot, client and engineer requirement necessarily.. Even pilot want OPS to clean his dustbin we have to do it.. ( hihi jokingly). Meaning to say OPS were the center of Engineer, Pilot , and the client. It were our responsibly to make it all well balanced and satisfied all parties. If not.. disaster Pilot
Expatriate and national pilot working on the same roof, from Kedah, Terengganu, Sarawak, South Africa, France, Canada.. Mozambique (kidding) etc.. etc.. flying rotary wing aircraft ( helicopter). So I have diversity people to work and play with. Every one of them have their on characteristic and PMS season.. (Premenstrual Syndrome). So they behavior may changed directly proportional with their hormone and gene modification. They keep changing and grumbling based on their need until they satisfied with them self (normally in U-Topia world la). OPS have to tackle it based on experience and skills they good at, or may ending like mangy cat or dead cockroach to them if wrongly handled. Engineer
This group are cool, they normally silent but deadly when bite, less fractious as long they milk was not forgotten ( cry baby) hihi kidding kiddos. They may changed the aircraft last minute ikut suka hati mak bapak dia (seldom) or based on technically needs( normally la). They were always in pressure, so have to be careful when ever talked with this people during they on busy repairing, arguing with pilot, or just trivial matters like looking for missing screw, missing screwdriver, and missing girlfriend. They also came from divers group of nationalities like pilot. The Client..
Our Rice Cooker ( periuk nasi) or source of income was come from Carigali and Shell in supporting of air transport for their worker for offshore exploration and production. Delivery people , equipment , paste shrimp, to oil platform. It was centralized in Helibase. The Helibase commonly represent by FCO ( flight co-ordinator a.k.a aircraft follower by radio) scheduler , and their big bosses. So alot of rules that need to comply with. 12 shell safety rules, HESS policy, Alcohol policy, Drink Drive policy, and many more. Any violating procedure / policy may ended ours into a ronin ( jobless). Shell and Petronas people are people that not easily satisfied with, they curiosity sometimes annoying, tracking back all fragment of shit our made and made it as a weapon to knock our back. They will audit our staff from the cleaner staff to the bigboss .( time wasters) OPS
The host of three above, some people says working with oil and gas sector must get a good paychecks end of month. I Generally agreed with that statement based from my previous company working with the same client , plus minus of shift allowance, uniform allowance, 13 month pays, yearly and festive bonus,OT, Outstation.. etc..etc.. managed to get 7K maximum. With my company IMO , they get rid off all the allowance and o/t and pays lum sum for all of it.. So my salary now? not really good, let it remain by my self.. -_-*. Im still looking for better opportunity and growth prospect in other company also.. P/S : my job is really a stress job..
