This thread is a continue chapter of my italian jobs year ago 😀
Right now working at KL, been offer new job working as a QA tester for aviation software. The boss or we normally called “Jedi Master” is a pilot before in my previous company. Since we know well, i been offered to join his team to developed software for aviation. I dont know why he selected me but according to his, it is based on my previous experience in AWAN before. Unexplainable right?
The stories i been hired was very funny at all, it start when i keep complaining about how nonfunctional his program was as im working on previous jobs. So one day i got called by him asking wheather im intersted to join him or not. My answer was simple, “you must have a good offer for me to migrate and leaving my love ones here.
And he just come with a new offer for the next day. It takes me a week to decide, after i see how terrible and pilot have been to me and to others. So then the progress happen, and the vital rules i must keep is to NOT TO TELL ANYBODY about this. I do tell someone about this at work, the person i adorably raspect. After sharing opinion with him then i decide to move on to challenge my self to big city.
Before that, yes i been heard how cool he treat his staff and how enjoyable it will be but im not interested after all. I just think it is not worth it to leave since i already have a great workmate here where i can scold and abuse :D. Butn since there is no improvement for our welfare there,
and after i seen everybody already plan for themself to look for other future, then i decide to go.
Done about intro, this is my stuff, my work desk with a bunch of paper need to be review, check and entered. Normally this stuff will be go through everyday.My workmate always ask why im not tidy up my table? and my answer is i just dont have time ( even though i have some free time). But behind the reason is I dont want to be bother with another jobs. So when they see a pile of paper at my desk, they know that i am on busy mode and stop bugging me;). Other reason, when i finnish with this paper, i love to play with shredded machine and shred this shit up..
Since we may work till late night or on weekend so the Jedi has brought us up a mobile aircond that i use to called R2-D2.
Our office aircond shutoff outside working hours so that why this robot is important. Uniquely , I am the ones that only get PC while other get 21 inch iMAC,
or MacBook pro . This is because to simulate as what client had on bases. So that why i stuck with this PC and others get big screen monitor bigger than they head! muwahahahaha. It all on apple stuff from the server, time capsule that working flawlessly on my ipod 😀
My job need me to keep online 24/7 if possible to monitor facebook news feed on what people thought of their day and make stupid comment with it. Just kidding, my job need me to interact with others even people on beside you on cyberspace, Why? because we need a record to track all the decision, ideas or output for record, brilliant is it. We use skype and wave a platform to communicate and assist people out , especially during set up on the outfield. Other reason is we have all programmer living outside Malaysia and that why chatting is important. Sometimes due to time different, required me to chat with foreign programmer until 3 am about works!. That why when people see im online fb till pagi pagi butak, it means i working okey! Sound geeky yes it a geek work environment , where you can see people post sad song on the google wave or skype during their down and post a jokes during their happy. Even im not into it but i get brainwash from time to time. I not understand when they talk about coding, script, apps , UI , sync, array, bla bla bla huh.. did i just talk geek word just now? shit im turned to be geek sooner -_-**
There is a joke when bout how uncool geek is during socialize with society or chikas, but according to jedi master, geek is richer and influential people in the world like Bill Gates, Sergey Brin even Mark Zuckerberg. Geek may change into cool when they are success. huh i dont want to be like that 😦 . I just like to work hard and party hard type geek 🙂
My office is on level 26 where we have a balcony, pantry , meeting room and living room area to watch tv news or reading newspapers. Hopefully will get coupon for daily meal, company yacht, and my own room later on. hopefully 🙂
Not far from the office , this is the place i use to have my breakfast, snickers, slurp, gardenia, or just to buy personal groceries like Colgate , Sos cili ,condom ( just joking) stuff for my home. I dont have time to go to GIANT, Suria KLCC, Isetan or big supermarket to get all i want, this small shops is enough for me since i love to simple and lazy at the same time 🙂
My daily transport is rely on Monorail or i rather called it sardine train since people inside always be compress like ikan sardin. Sometimes it so tight where your face with other is about 10cm . And most uncomfortable and embarrassing moment is when get push by women during rushing inside the train. Trust me women here are tough than man sometime. I have been limp like a piece of paper by them and have to lean with others since it was to packed with people. So whenever the train move right or left i just stand like a thatch ( lalang) lean with people. So freaking gross, urghh. That why i always bring my back pack to avoid this banana grow twice again. My home to the office is taken about 30 minute including walking and hop to the train so it is not bad after all 😉
As a conclusion, i enjoyed working here but will see how it lead in the future. I just want to make use what i had here to learn something interesting. Working for me is not about make a living, it is a lifestyle also. The more your interested the more fun it will be. There still a pressure and still you have a time for fun. It all about how you need to be more responsible and proactive to get thing done. Comparing to my previous company, it a routine job that normally have to do everyday. In here i have to open books, google data, and keep on experiment new stuff. If not you will be deadwood for next couple of month.
